Thank you for your honest take on Israel. Once you travel to Israel, you realize the media gets it wrong, very wrong. This is a wonderful place with wonderful people trying to defend their homeland and defeat terrorism.

In reply to Victoria @The British Berliner. Yeah it is difficult to talk about. I know my even going to Israel offending people (as they emailed me telling me) so it's definitely a touchy subject. To be at a winery so close to what's happened in Syria as well was uncomfortable and all in all a very strange thing which is what I tried to explain!

An interesting post Rachel. Israel is so controversial that it’s difficult to talk about, even though I’ve always wanted to visit and live in a kibbutz! I’m still very interested in Hebrew / Jewish history, but this is not that type of post, and that’s perfectly alright!

I absolutely love the photographs. Really nice and showing a side of Israle that most people don’t see. In every part of the world, even if there’s war, people still eat, laugh, go out to work, and live thier lives. As they must.

This is an interesting post. I understand that this is not a political and I appreciate the way you have been seriously honest about this post. Though I myself agree that most of the time the issues and articles we read in media are mostly false propaganda, I haven’t really had an opportunity to visit a conflicted area. The closest I have gone to is Kargil in India and it can be extremely scary with bunkers and tanks all around. Eventually, I hope everything will come to normal.

In reply to Laura. Hey laura - Israel is amazing and somewhere I really want to go back to. I think there is a TBEX coming up there really soon. I'm also pretty sure this ISIS thing was a one-off thing as news said it was like local ISIS guys making a decision, not an order from high up, as ISIS should know not to fight with israel!

This is really interesting, Rachel. I’ve never heard of Golan Heights, but am really intrigued now. Israel has definitely been on my radar now for a while and this just makes me want to visit it even more. Thanks for sharing your experience as well as information about what’s happening there now!
